FAQs on Tutoring

  • Schools typically require an application that lists your academic performance (GPA, SAT scores, etc.), a portfolio, and personal essay. Depending on the program, some will require an interview as well. Check out the “Resources” page on the toolbar above to read more about how to craft your best architecture application package!

  • Of course! Needless to say, college is an important phase of life that will shape many aspects of your future. It is important to select the right architecture program that best matches you and your interests.

We’ll start by asking what type of schools you would like to go to - accredited or non-accredited (read more about accreditation and how it affects you - under “Resources” tab on the top toolbar), 4-year or 5-year, big or small student body, etc. - and find schools that are the best fit for you.

  • For undergraduate applicants, students come to me typically in their junior or senior year in high school with some body of art work. Depending on existing work, we will work on a few personally-tailored creative projects to help strengthen the portfolio. We will also work on the development of the portfolio itself. Since building a good portfolio takes time, it is highly recommended to start the process sooner than later.

For graduate applicants who already have an architecture portfolio - If you would like a one-time redline-markup for some constructive feedback to help fine-tune your portfolio, check out the “Review” tab on the top toolbar. If you’re unsure whether your portfolio is ready for a review, feel free to fill out the contact form below to ask.

  • Log in online at the scheduled time and date for a class session. We screen-share, make markups, discuss strengths and areas to work on, and set tasks due for the next meeting. We’ll leverage your strengths that are unique to your work and find the best steps forward to hone your application package.

  • Schedule a class session via an online class scheduling tool where you may book classes for any day and time that works best for you and the instructor. Scheduling for classes is flexible! You may decide to hold the same time and date each week or switch it up depending on your scheduling needs.

  • No worries. Life happens. Feel free to reschedule at least a day in advance and let your instructor know.

  • You’re welcome to send emails to clarify tasks and ask any questions before the next session!
